GWRRA IOWA CHAPTER P

Newsletter

Graphic of newspapers; Size=130 pixels wide

I'm sure everyone joins me in the thirst for warm weather to get back on two wheels again. Can't come soon enough for me. I haven't even had a warm enough day to work in the garage to install the goodies I got for Christmas on our 1800. I only got to put 700 miles on before cold weather set in.

I want to ask everyone to join in prayer and well wishes for Betty Whitehead who underwent heart surgery Monday in Lincoln, NE. She had two blockages that needed to be fixed and as of 6 PM this (Monday) evening the report is the procedure went well and she is doing fine. We wish her a speedy recovery.

I got my 2008 Gold Book and when I thumbed through it I find several names missing from Chapter "P". In no particular order these names appear. Brannan, Douthit, Sebenecher, Smith, Adcock, Leigan, Martin, George, Tupper, Kennon, and O'Neil. I can think of at least 5 names not listed as GWRRA members and wonder what has happened to them. Possibilities are, - unpaid dues, whether inadvertent or on purpose. Membership was not received in time to get into the gold book, or they were somehow left out of the book when printed. There is one other option, and that is to elect not to be listed in the book.

If for whatever reason, your name is not listed and you wish to be, please advise me or the Chapter Director and we will try to get the problem corrected. If you have elected to drop membership, we are sorry to see that happen and would like to know what we did or didn't do to make this happen. GWRRA membership has many benefits as well as just the joy of riding. Participation does equate to fun.

Remember, we have a chapter meeting the third Tuesday of every month at the Pizza Ranch in Red Oak at 7PM, as well as a supper ride most Tuesdays and Fridays. We depart from the HY-VEE parking lot in Shenandoah at 6:30. Please join in the fun.

Think spring and we'll see you on the road.
